Yeah.  It had to happen at some point or it's not a real road trip.  Right?
The friendliest and nicest police officer I've met in a long time.  (Minutes after I arrived in Texas.  :D  But to be fair, I went the wrong way down a one way road.  To be doubly fair, I was going back down the two laned road I'd come up, to get some gas... but the road splits.  So now the two lanes were one way.
Tired traveler beware.

Shamrock - Irish Blarney Stone - I didn't stop for this one, but maybe it's your kind of gig...?
- Elmore park

Conway - Slug bug ranch?!

Amarillo - The Big Texan
This place was such a zoo when I went.  But worth a stop if you're interested in seeing first hand the over the top, kind of tacky, everything's bigger, let's make it happen and huge, audacious Texas style.  And I'm sure the steak is great.  (The wait line was too long for me to try one.  So I tried the infamous Whataburger instead...)

2nd Amendment Cowboy Muffler Man.
This guy has an interesting story, including, ironically, having multiple bullet holes filled.

Amarillo - Cadillac Ranch
One of the iconic sights I was looking forward to.  Caught it just right.

Found a dirt road off the freeway with an interesting view to plant my tent.

Day 7. Amarillo to Bernalillo via Pecos (Around 400 miles)

Vega
Stopped in at Hickory Inn, for an all Texas breakfast.  Wasn't disappointed.   A Texas style, priced and sized feed I got.

Aaaand.... we're half way there!!

Arian - Midpoint
