Houck - Fort Courage - Replica F troop tv show
Sanders - Three's a 1923 Pratt Pony Truss Bridge here, if you're a bridge chaser? I'm not.

Chambers to Holbrook - Petrified Forest National Park

Holbrook
- Wigwam Hotel.
- Geronimo Trading Post. - Largest Petrified Wood apparently.
Joseph City - The famous Jackrabbit Trading Post

Winslow - Standing on the corner
Meteor City - Meteor Crater - This was strangely expensive for a hole in the ground, created a long, long time ago, and I couldn't justify supporting the extortion despite being curious, so I skipped it. However, this is the basic countryside where the meteor hit.
It got pretty wet and there was a pretty sweet flood over the main road in flagstaff, which created deep silt riding, which is always exciting. But i couldn't stop. Hesitation is the enemy.
Flagstaff - The Weatherford Hotel.
Walnut Canyon National Monument - Sadly closed because of the storm.
From Flagstaff I detoured off Route 66 to go see The Grand Canyon. The next section is not Route 66 until I get back to Williams. This was a 165 mile very worthy detour.
Head to Cameron and turn left to The Grand Canyon.
Riding right in to another rainstorm for the night in a tent doesn't conjure feelings of dread...
But it turned out fine. I just tried to remember not to sleep in a dry creek bed...
Day 10. Grand Canyon through Oatman to Topock. This was for sure the best day of riding. Scenery was spectacular. Because of this, I'm going to give it it's own page.
